Hi Swappers! 

You are cordially invited to our next swap to take place on Thursday, September 8, at 6:30pm, at a great bar called 61 Local in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn.

The fine folks at 61 Local will be hosting us in their upstairs party space—plenty of room to eat, swap, drink and socialize. They have a fantastic menu of beers, non-alcoholic drinks and snacks!

Per usual, bring your homemade goods to swap, and a little something extra for the potluck portion of the evening, if you like.

Appropriate items for swapping include home canned foods, jams, chutneys, oils, syrups, infused liquors, baked goods, candies, kombucha, pickles and more... If you made it and it's edible, you can trade it! We suggest portion sizes between 4–16 oz, depending on the cost of the materials involved.

For those of you who might not have attended one before, here's a little more explanation of how the swap works: All you need to do is bring 3-5 items (though some people bring more, some less), which can range from a jar of jam you put up a few months ago to a loaf of bread you baked that day. The swapping itself is a friendly and casual barter transaction. You will make in-kind trades with other swappers and leave with as many items as you came with.
